The beginning of the gods: how it all started
In the beginning there was Chaos. Chaos was the first entity in existence, and every other god and goddess was born out of her. First Eros, the god of love, then Tartarus, the original god of the Underworld, Gaea came next, she was the personification of Earth. Erebus, the the god of darkness and Nyx, the goddess of night were born, both from Chaos. Then there was Ourea, god of mountains, Pontus, god of the sea (What about Poseidon? we'll meet him later, don't worry) and Uranus, the god of the heavens, all born from Gaea. Then Uranus and Gaea had children together. Gaea gave birth to three Hecatoncheires (Hundred handed ones) they were huge giants, with fifty heads. Three Cyclopes, giants with one eye in the middle of their foreheads.
